Elevation Church is a Reformed Church in America congregation that came out of what is called the Church Multiplication Initiative, which provides funding for Kingdom Enterprise Zones (KEZs) — regional groups that work together to plant Reformed Church in America and Christian Reformed Church congregations.

Currently, there are 11 KEZs that have planted 30 new churches, involving 31 classes.

A good example of growing cooperation between the CRC and RCA, Elevation Church meets on Sundays at Wyoming Junior High School near Grand Rapids, Mich.

On a recent Sunday, the church celebrated four baptisms and Pastor Chris Hall was commissioned to be pastor to serve at the church.

During the service, he said, "It's by glorious grace that God saves us through faith. And faith comes from outside us, not within us. It's an act of the Holy Spirit of God (John 1:13). As Martin Luther said, 'faith is God’s work in us, that changes us and gives new birth from God'."

After service, Hall spoke about the value, in practical ways, of the denominations working together.

For instance, he says he has worked closely with other CRC pastors and with CRC people on a mentoring program and other projects in his community.

Elevation has a Calvin Seminary intern this summer.

And, he says, "add that to a number of CRC individuals who have directly contributed prayer, money or equipment and it's a pretty compelling picture of cross-denom partnership."
