The  Calvin Studies Society is offering a colloquium to be held from April 9-11 at Calvin Theological Seminary for those interested in learning more about John Calvin and the Reformed tradition.

The Meeter Center for Calvin Studies at Calvin College and Calvin Seminary is the local organizer of the event, which is titled “Semper Reformada: Calvin, Worship, and Reformed Traditions.”

The conference features eight plenary speakers who will present papers on such topics as “Toward a Theory of Ritual in Modernity” and “The Material Culture of the Lord’s Supper.”

Scholars will be coming from all over North America and abroad to speak about Calvin and to attend the sessions. Barbara Pitkin, senior lecturer for religious studies at Stanford University, is the program chair.
Two special events are open to the public free of charge: a panel discussion and debate on infant baptism versus infant dedications on Thursday, April 9, at 7:30 p.m., and a celebrative evening Psalm-sing, featuring small-group and congregational song on Friday, April 10, also at 7:30 p.m.

Both evening events will take place in the chapel of Calvin Theological Seminary. To see a full list of speakers and topics and to register Click here.
