Churches across Canada are joining in prayer for the family of Tim Bosma, a member of the Ancaster (Ont.) Christian Reformed Church, who was murdered nearly three years ago. The trial of two men charged with his murder began on Monday, Feb 1.

Rev. Darren Roorda, the Canadian Ministries director, asked that churches in Canada, “pray intentionally on February 1st and each day thereafter as the trial continues.”

During each day of the trial, Ancaster CRC will post a verse in “Praying with the Bosma family” on their church website as a reminder to pray for the family, the trial, the accused, and all those affected.

On May 6, 2013, Tim Bosma went with two men for a test drive in a pickup truck he was trying to sell, and never returned.

Police found his burned remains a week later, ending a week of anxious searching and pleas for his return. The story made national headlines and brought an outpouring of support and prayer from CRC members and many others.
